TEHRAN -- Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said here on Sunday that the late Morteza Motahhari is the only distinguished Islamic philosopher whose philosophical views are related to all social, political, and even mundane matters, and so this unique characteristic of Motahhari should be correctly introduced.

In an address to a gathering of members of the Headquarters to Commemorate Martyr Morteza Motahhari, Ayatollah Khamenei called Motahhari a great philosopher and mystic, and noted that shedding light on his philosophical character and views is essential at this point in time.

He went on to say that such a great task can only be carried out by a group of philosophers and intellectuals who are familiar with Motahhari’s works.

In conclusion, Ayatollah Khamenei praised all the measures taken to publish Motahhari’s works and familiarize Iranian students with his thought and said that Motahhari’s philosophical school of thought should be introduced as the source of his attitude and thinking in order to facilitate research on the various dimensions of his work.
